HeartMind International Celebrates Launch with Major Event at Motorco
Durham, NC – On Saturday April 4th, 2015, HeartMind International (HMI), a non-profit organization with local ties to the Duke community, will host a launch party open to the public at Motorco, 723 Rigsbee Ave, Durham, NC 27701, doors open at 6:30pm, music starts at 7pm. As part of the celebration, HMI will entertain guests with a benefit concert featuring performances by the Indo-Appalachian band Hindugrass and post-benefit party showcasing Americana rootsy-folk artist Kamara Thomas and bluesy pop-infused Matt Phillips & The Philharmonic band.
All proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit HeartMind International’s efforts to support mental health services for children and vulnerable populations in rural Nepal. Along with the concert, there will be handmade Nepalese jewelry, clothing and crafts available for purchase, as well as a raffle featuring items from local businesses.
